One of the most popular movies and dramas at the end of the year is "Chushingura".
It is a story of loyalty that the Japanese still love after 300 years.
A vignette (small diorama) of the hero of the story, Oishi Kuranosuke.
The base kit is a Tamiya plastic model (out of print as of February 2013) and the pose is the same, but the details have been reworked almost entirely, except for the hakama.
The face has been remodeled to look more like a red demon than the base kit, and the paint job has been given a reddish tint. In order to express the devil's expression on a face that is only about 5mm long, the highlights have been added to emphasize the unevenness of the face.
The painting is not limited to the face.
The face is not the only part of the figure that has been painted, as Asaki has also hand-painted the letters, which are so detailed that they are difficult to read with the naked eye.
The pattern of the hakama is a work of art that needs no explanation.
