This is an original illustration written by Mr. Nishimura, an illustrator by profession, for the in-flight magazine of Royal Dutch Airlines and actually adopted by the airline.
This is one of the many illustrations that Nishimura created during his two-month tour of the Netherlands.
The subject is a special speed train 'Regiorunner' running on the track between the canals and the iris flowers, common in Europe, on the opposite bank.
The contrast between the bright yellow colour of the body and the yellow of the petals swaying in the breeze was interesting enough for him to sketch it.
This illustration left such a strong impression on him that he also made a diorama based on it.
herealso available.
