This is an image of the Soya Main Line in the early 1970s.
A line of rails in a snowy field. The contrast between the black and white of the rails is beautiful, and is typical of Nishimura's work as an illustrator.
In the midst of the magnificent scenery, Nishimura also manages to include a few minor highlights, such as a man walking his dog and a man holding a camera on the platform.
