Only five years after the Pacific War. In June 1950, the Korean War broke out. In December of the same year, Atsugi Airfield began construction and restoration of runways and other facilities as a U.S. Naval air base....
Even in such tense times, children were innocent and strong, and they went to Atsugi with cameras in their hands, aiming to catch a glimpse of the aircraft coming down from the aircraft carrier stopping in Yokosuka.
I am sure that the F9F-2 Panther, which is about to go to the battlefield, must have looked beautiful and brave in their eyes.
