Author: Toshio Honzawa
Born in Tokyo in 1947, he held solo exhibitions of paintings and sculptures (11 times at Sirota Lunami and Muramatsu Gallery) and group exhibitions (5 times) from 1962 to 1964. He has been working as a stage designer since 1970, and joined the Shiki Theatre Company in 1985. 1997 he participated in TV Champion (won the 1st Japan Dollhouse Championship), and since then he has held many solo exhibitions of dollhouses, including entries in dollhouse festivals (Umeda Hankyu, Fukuoka Izutsuya, Moriguchi Keihan, Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi, Isetan Fine Art Gallery, Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi, and Moriguchi Keihan), Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi, Isetan Art Gallery, Nagoya Mitsukoshi, Nagoya Matsuzakaya, Matsuyama Mitsukoshi, Futako Tamagawa Shimaya, and Tokyu Department Store. Shibuya Tokyu Department Store, Chiba Sogo, etc.). Currently, he teaches younger artists at his studio in Suwon, Korea. Invited to exhibit at the Silk Gallery of the Embassy of Japan, Republic of Korea, 2006-14.
