The storehouse is the sleeve storehouse of a merchant house.
With its massive boxed roof, elaborate design of onigawara tiles and "namako-bari" waistboard, it condenses the image of the "white-walled storehouse" characteristic of the old townscapes of eastern Japan.
It is the first of its kind in the world.
A torii gate, shrine and lantern are included.
