This is a lovely layout based on the Atami Railway.
Tangerine and tea fields, undulating terrain, a husband and a care-free woman at the station... the full atmosphere of Atami in the early Showa period!

The steam locomotive is from Bachmann with accessories and effective weathering for added realism.
The most difficult part of the layout was the rails, with such sharp curves and gradients that the layout had to be adjusted on a "sheet of paper" to make it run comfortably, despite repeated derailments and collisions.
The production was published in the model railway magazine "RM MODELS 141 (May 2007) - 147 (November 2007)" and was well received.
