Woody Joe's wooden kit has been used to create a more realistic castle, gorgeously lit up and finished in an acrylic case.
Maruoka Castle is located in Maruoka Town, Sakai City, Fukui Prefecture, and was chosen as one of the 100 best castles in Japan for its keep, which is said to be the oldest in existence.
The stonewalls are built using an old method called "Nozura-Zukuri", which has many gaps and gives a rough impression, but is said to have good drainage and is not likely to collapse in heavy rain. In the model, wooden chips are pasted one by one, like a puzzle, with great care taken to recreate it.
The castle, also known as Kasumigajo Park, is famous for its cherry blossoms, and the area around the castle tower is specially designed with realistic tree models, including pine trees.
In addition, the castle is illuminated with LEDs on three sides to create a three-dimensional effect at night.
This model also comes with a heavy 5mm acrylic case that adds to the prestige of the model, so it can be displayed immediately and enjoyed for many years to come.
